How long does the implant procedure take?

Placing a single implant may take as little as thirty minutes while a complex implants surgery (all-on-four or all-on-six) requiring multiple replacements can take 2-3 hours.

After the implant is placed, to allow the implant to properly heal and fuse with the jawbone (osseo-integration; the direct structural and functional connection between living bone and the surface of the implant) the patient must allow a minimum of 3 months recovery time and will schedule a follow-up appointment 3-6 months later.

We will tell you the exact treatment time frame at your dental implant consultation.

Dental implant prices in VipSmileStudio

Dental implants are an investment in your health and happiness.

Whilst the cost of an implant treatment is not cheap, the cost of replacing the gap of missing tooth & teeth with a bridge or denture can add up over the years and eventually cost much more than an implant.

It is worth the investment to improve the quality of your life, appearance of the smile and overall confidence. We only ever prescribe treatment that is necessary. If you are searching for a bargain, please keep in mind the calibre of dentistry we offer, the international dental materials and the scope of the guarantee of the dental treatments. We do offer value but never at the cost of the quality of care provided or products we use.

Do you offer IV Sedation

The majority of implant procedures require only local anaesthetic via injection to ensure the patient is pain free.

The only pain you should feel is the initial sharp scratch of the needle. Several minutes later, once you are numb, you won’t feel any pain.

You will feel some pressing and pushing during the procedure as well as some vibration during the drilling stage, but this will not be sharp or painful in any way.

If you are nervous you also have the option of having your treatment under IV Sedation.

IV Sedation makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. You don’t remember the procedure afterwards and will feel sedated during it. It can be quite strong and you are advised to rest and recover fully before doing any exercise or strenuous task.

Obviously, the more experienced your dentist, the quicker your dental treatment will be and the more comfortable you are going to be which is why most patients who have implants at VIP Smile Studio only require the regular local anaesthetic.

Please ensure you check out the credentials and experience of your dentist thoroughly before starting your dental treatment.

If I have missing teeth for a very long time, can I still have implants?

To see how much bone is left and to prepare the best dental implant treatment plan, we carry out a full assessment of your capacity to have implant treatment by analysing your x-rays in detail. This will tell us if it is suitable for you.

When one of my teeth is extracted, can I get “immediate implant” or will I be left with a gap?

Yes. You will receive an immediate implant.

Normally, we can immediately place the implants into the extraction socket when your tooth is extracted.

However, after tooth removal, it is sometimes necessary to wait for the healing process to be complete before an implant can be implanted. This is usually due to an infection existing.

In this case, before we can place the implants, you need to wait eight to twelve weeks.

If you need to wait for the healing process do no worry, you will not have a gap if you do not want to have one. We can provide temporary tooth/teeth during this recovery period.

What about bone grafting? Will I need it? Do all extraction sockets need a bone graft?

The answer is no. Bone grafts are essential for replacing missing or damaged bone in your jaw.

The most common reason for a dental bone graft is to prevent bone loss following a tooth extraction.

The bone-graft material inserts into the empty socket left by the extracted tooth.

Sometime the cavity reduces your tooth to an empty, gummy space after an extraction. Or your gum disease causes loose teeth. In these cases, a bone graft can repair and rebuild your damaged bone to support your dental implant.

TEETH EXTRACTIONS

Can I delay my pain by taking pain killers every once in a while?

dentistry in antalya

Your wisdom tooth pain comes and goes.

However it does not mean you can leave them alone. Leaving a problem usually will make it worse and when this comes to dental issues it can have really serious effects on your health.

There are some patients who get over their pain with pain killers avoiding the real issue. This causes further damage to their teeth and more extensive dental treatment needed in the future.

The earlier you can solve the real problem, the better!

What problems will arise if I do not remove my wisdom tooth?

If your wisdom teeth do not grow properly, they can cause further dental problems such as;

  • Damage to the surrounding teeth
  • Infected and/or inflamed gum tissue
  • Damage to the jaw
  • Cysts growing around the jaw
  • Increase risk of cavities
  • Alignment and bite issues
  • Sinus issues

SEDATION IV

Do you offer sedation for tooth removal?

sedation

Yes, sedation is very popular for wisdom teeth extractions. We offer IV sedation for all dental treatments including tooth extractions.

Dr Dilek will make a pre-sedation assessment to ensure you are suitable for this treatment and to plan the course of action once you are sedated.

Is the tooth removal painful?

You will feel only a slight scratch as the anaesthetic injections are applied.

Following the anaesthetic, you will feel no pain while Dr Dilek is taking your wisdom tooth out. Only some pressure and movement in the mouth.

How do I know if I have dry socket?

Once we remove the tooth, there will be a hole in your jaw bone where the tooth was and this hole is called a socket.

Actually, this is very good for the healing process because a blood clot will form in this area in order to protect your bone and nerves underneath.

In the event that this clot of blood aggravates or dislodges, it will cause an infection in your bone and nerves which will be exposed to fluids, air, food, etc. and eventually to a dry socket. And this will cause pain, bad taste in your mouth, and bad breath.

No worries. Dry socket is quite common following extraction of wisdom teeth and there are solutions.

If you have dry socket we will apply a topical medicine to the area that will solve the problem and allow the healing process to complete.

Can I work the next day?

Yes you can work the next day without any issues.

However, in the event that any swelling or bruising occurs, we recommend our patients to rest the next day following the extraction.

What is IV sedation and what are its benefits?

During IV sedation, an anaesthetic is injected into the vein, usually on top of the hand. This drug provides the relaxing and comfortable feeling that allows you to remove anxiety, stress and worry from your dental procedure.

It is a type of conscious sedation because patients are actually awake so can respond to stimuli such as verbal suggestions and instructions of the dentist, physical touch, etc.

Today most of the dentists prefer IV sedation thanks to the many benefits that include;

  • You won’t remember of undergoing the treatment because this type of sedation causes partial or complete loss of memory during the treatment. This is a huge advantageous because you will remember nothing about the dental procedure.
  • You won’t remember any of the treatment meaning no stressful memories or anxiety about the dentist
  • You will not feel pain during the treatment
  • You will not have a sense of time while you are under sedation so won’t be nervous or worried about the treatment
  • You will not feel fear or anxiety during treatment.
  • Since patients are relaxed and calm, the doctors can easily carry out the treatment without any flinching or tensing.
  • Since patients become comfortable and compliant, the total treatment time is less.
  • Unlike general anaesthesia, during the IV sedation, it is not necessary to have any breathing apparatus or aid. The body’s vital functions are working perfectly without the need for medical equipment.
  • Following the IV sedation, patients can recover quickly and continue with their daily routine.
  • IV Sedation is comparatively much safer than general anaesthesia.

Will I be fully asleep during the treatment?

No, you will not be fully asleep during IV sedation. You will be extremely comfortable and relaxed, so will not be aware of what is happening during the treatment.

Do I feel pain during treatment?

Patients do not feel pain or discomfort during their dental treatment.

CROWNS

What is the Procedure for Dental Crowns?

dental-crowns

The first step to achieve your dream smile with porcelain crowns is to schedule your consultation.

During the consultation you will discuss what your goals are for your smile, any issues you are suffering with and any information that will help the dental team develop a suitable treatment plan.

Once we agree on your exact expectations of the treatment and the bespoke treatment plan your journey to your Dream Smile begins.

Non-Reversible Procedure: It is important to note that crowns are a non-reversible procedure as some of your tooth enamel will be removed before placing your crowns.

The Procedure for Your Hollywood Smile Transformation

Appointment 1st:

  • Doctor Dilek takes several highly accurate impressions (moulds) of your teeth that will help make your custom crowns.
  • The impressions are also used to produce your temporary crowns which stay on your teeth for approximately two days until your new crowns are fabricated in our exclusive dental laboratory.
  • While your teeth are numb, Doctor Dilek prepares your teeth by removing any decay and shaping the surface to properly fit the crowns.

Appointment 2nd:

  • Your temporary crowns are placed with temporary glue.
  • Then we check your bite to ensure you are biting properly with the crowns.

Appointment 3rd:

  • At your third appointment we remove your temporary crowns, your teeth are cleaned, and your new crowns are carefully placed to ensure the shape, spacing, bite and colour are accurate and perfectly match your expectations and goals.
  • You will then be provided with the best aftercare instructions to maintain the health of your new teeth

VENEERS

Does composite bonding involve “drilling teeth down” or “injections”?

laminate-dental-veneers

No. One of the best features of composite bonding is: “There is no need to remove any tooth structure. This means there is no damage to your tooth.

The other best feature of composite bonding treatment: This is painless treatment. There is also no need to use any injections to make this treatment pain-free.

How long does composite bonding last?

Depending on how well you look after your teeth, on average composite bonding lasts 3-8 years. In order to make sure your smile stays beautiful, after your treatment, we recommend you to visit your dentist regularly -every 6 months- to ensure your gums stay healthy.

It is very common for composite bonding to chip or crack due to eating hard foods such a candy or ice. This means that you may have to have repeat treatment to fix the broken parts every now and then.

This is the main reason why veneers are preferred.

What’s the difference between composite bonding and porcelain veneers?

For composite bonding our cosmetic dentist artistically carves the aesthetic composite resin material over your tooth surface in order to achieve the desired shape & size & colour. Composite bonding treatment is completed in one appointment (1-2 hours) and does not require any removal of your tooth & teeth structure.

On the other hand, porcelain veneers are made in a dental lab by our experienced laboratory by using the best porcelain to manufacture contact-lens thin pieces of ceramic and then our cosmetic dentist bonds the porcelain veneer on to your tooth surface. For porcelain veneer treatment, it takes 3 appointments to complete.

Porcelain veneers last up to 20 years. Composite veneers last 3-8 years on average.

You can find out how much your treatment will cost with veneers or composite bonding by having a FREE consultation.

My teeth are crooked! Can I get Veneers?

The answer to your question depends on the level of crowding with your teeth.

Based on your treatment goals and expectations, our dentist will tell you the best treatment plan for you at your consultation.

If you would like to repair your crooked teeth, veneers are a fast, painless, affordable option for improving the appearance of your teeth option.

This option is considered minimally invasive, because just a small amount of healthy tooth reduction is required to properly bind the composite bonding material to your tooth surface.

Veneers are used to correct flaws and imperfections, such as mild crowding/crooked, uneven, gapped/spaced or discoloured teeth.

Do I need to get teeth whitening before veneers?

No it is not necessary. You can choose the colour of your veneers to suit your desired level of brightness.

What payment options are available to make my dream smile plan affordable?

We totally understand dental cosmetic treatments are an expensive health & beauty investment.

We are able to offer discounts for customers paying in cash and allow you to pay in £GBP, Euro or USD so you can avoid any exchange fees.

We also accept card payments but they do have a 5% transaction fee.

TEETH WHITENING

What is the procedure for teeth whitening?

teeth-whitening

Your dentist first carries out a full assessment of your teeth. They will then apply a solution to your teeth and switch on the laser machine that boosts the effect of the active ingredients. This process usually takes 30 minutes.

Aftercare instructions and dietary restrictions are given to ensure that your teeth have the maximum improvement from the whitening treatment. Usually it takes a couple of days for them to reach their full brightness.

If you require whitening trays then we will take moulds of your teeth. Our laboratory prepares your custom teeth whitening trays according to the moulds of your teeth to allow you to continue teeth whitening at home. You will be shown how to use your home teeth whitening kit.

How long do the whitening results last?

The teeth whitening result lasts normally for 6-12 months before you would want to have another session. The result might last longer if you avoid smoking or tea, coffee, red wine, etc.

In time, the result will naturally fade a little returning to your natural colour

The great news is that the teeth whitening trays we give you last a lifetime. So you can use a syringe of the gel in your teeth whitening home kit and start topping up your teeth to improve their appearance!

After teeth whitening will my enamel be damaged?

Will my teeth sensitive after teeth whitening?

INVISALIGN (CLEAR BRACES)

How will Invisalign straighten my teeth?

invisalign

Our cosmetic dentist will make your tailored, bespoke digital treatment plan.

You will be able to see how your teeth will be following the Invisalign treatment.

The transparent aligners work in a series of trays which gradually shift your teeth into place over time.

Each tray is produced so that the teeth are slightly straighter than the previous tray.

Our cosmetic dentist will always be with you during the steps of the Invisalign treatment and monitor your progress to ensure that your Invisalign treatment is going perfectly. This is carried out via Email or WhatsApp.

What are the main benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment has many benefits.

They have an invisible appearance so there is no metal or visible objects in your mouth.

Comfortable soft plastic that doesn’t cause pain or problems

Improved cleanliness as you will need to clean your teeth more regularly

Time-saving as you won’t have multiple visits to the dentist and can just change over trays by sending images to our dental team

Safe and un-invasive procedure that allows you to naturally improve your smile

Simple solution to achieve beautifully straight teeth

The transparent clear aligners are virtually invisible. Therefore, no one will even notice that you are wearing clear aligners.

There are no metal & porcelain brackets or wires which could irritate you, they cannot affect the way you look.

You can remove them for special occasions and daily activities such as eating, brushing, flossing etc.

Indeed, you can eat whatever and whenever you want because they are easily removable.

Is Invisalign Treatment painful?

Invisalign is much more comfortable and easier compared to traditional braces.

Invisalign trays put gentler pressure on your teeth (compared to traditional braces).

This makes the Invisalign treatment far more comfortable than the metal brace treatment.

There is no risk of getting your gums cut, because the Invisalign trays just smoothly rub against your gums.

How much does Invisalign cost?

We ensure our patients that the prices for Invisalign treatment are among the best you can find in Turkey.

Similar to the clear braces treatment, the cost of Invisalign treatment is dependent on three factor;

  • The level of crowding of your teeth,
  • The complexity of the treatment,
  • The length of treatment.

Therefore our cosmetic dentist will examine the above factors and determine your cost.

Prices for Invisalign treatment are generally between £1.500-£3.000 for top and bottom.

On the other hand, if only minor tooth movement is necessary, the cost of the Invisalign treatment will be much less.
