Complete dentures are the option when all the teeth are missing. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are either “immediate” or “conventional” as to your false teeth options;

Conventional Complete Dentures;

When your teeth have been removed and your gum tissue has begun to heal, conventional dentures are ready for placement in your mouth in 5 days after the teeth have been removed.

Complete Immediate Dentures:

Immediate dentures are produced in advance. They can be fitted as soon as your teeth are removed. This means you don’t have to be without teeth during the recovery process.

The Difference Between Immediate and Conventional Dentures

During the first few weeks following the removal of your teeth, your bones and gums sometime shrink or recede. So, immediate complete dentures have a disadvantage when compared to conventional complete dentures.

In order to fit properly during the healing process immediate dentures may require more adjustments and should be considered a temporary solution until your conventional complete dentures are made.

Partial Dentures

At VIP Smile Studio, we make partial dentures when one or more your natural teeth remain in your upper or lower jaw.

A removable partial denture consists of replacement teeth attached to the gum-coloured acrylic base. This is connected by metal framework holding your dentures in place in your mouth.

Alternative Options to Dentures

Complete dentures are not permanently fixed in your mouth. They are a removable tooth/teeth replacement solution. So when you sleep you need to remove your dentures.

Every person has a different mouth shape & structure. While some have a very good bony ridge (allowing your dentures to sit comfortably) other people have a very shrunk ridge.

The more bone you have, the better and the longer your dentures stay in.

During your consultation, Doctor Dilek looks at your current dentures to examine how much of an improvement can be made. To understand that, Doctor Dilek looks at your bite, how well your denture fits, what parts of your jaw structure it covers and last but not least, the cosmetic appearance of your denture.

Therefore, Doctor Dilek will provide alternative solutions including, making a new denture, using implants and crowns or using a bridge.

Dental implants and dental bridges are the best permanent solutions. They eliminate the need for dentures.

The cost of implants or bridging is higher than dentures, however the longevity and security you feel with those products is worth the investment.

Implants and bridges look like natural, teeth and don’t come with the risk of moving in the mouth or falling out.

Dental implants and dental bridges are becoming the preferred method to fixing missing teeth. Unfortunately not everyone are good candidates for implants and bridges so it is important to find out what treatment is best for you.

How long does it take to make your dentures?

At VIP Smile Studio, we make your dentures in 3 days, with 3 short appointments.

There have also even been times when we make your dentures in a day for emergency situations.

The speed depends upon the individual situation of our patients, such as whether they already have a current set of dentures.

Procedure for Dentures

• A series of impressions of your jaw and measurements (of how your jaws connect to one another and how much space is between your jaws and teeth) are taken.
• To get a more accurate impression of your teeth, we use a special tray which is made in our laboratory.
• Doctor Dilek crafts the models, wax forms & patterns in the exact position and shape of your dentures to be made.
• Then you “try in” this model several times.
• Together with you, Doctor Dilek assesses your denture for colour, shape and fit before the final dentures are produced.
• Then Doctor Dilek tries the dentures to be sure that they’re fit perfectly.
• Adjustments are made if necessary.
